About Me
Hi! My name is Madison Davis. I am a full time multimedia artist based in Atlanta, Georgia and am the sole artist & owner of The Arcane Moth. Everything from the handcrafting of my pieces, to the photography of my work, my social media posts and message replies, to the packing and shipping of my pieces is all done entirely by me. My work is made with so much love and is deeply inspired by the magic and beauty of our planet. I create with mediums from oil and acrylic paints, to polymer clay and ceramics, to natural and foraged materials like wood and moss.
Early on, I was inspired to learn from my father who shared a passion for my creative interests. As a multimedia artist himself, he worked with metals, wood, neon, miniatures, insect preservation, and mural painting, and loved to share his knowledge of these various methods and materials with me. I spent my childhood and adolescence exploring and experimenting alongside him. I lost my dad to cancer in 2022. So much of the work I do now is made in his memory. He was my biggest supporter and never stopped encouraging me to continue pushing through adversity and pursuing my passions.
I attended Georgia State University in 2018 and became a part of the multimedia arts and interior design programs. While in school in 2019, I decided to try sharing my original work online for the first time. I wasn't at all sure how it would go, and I was definitely still finding my artistic voice. However, over the course of the pandemic, I used my art to help me cope with traumas and mental health struggles. It became so clear as I continued to create more often that this is what I am meant to do for a living. I find so much joy and healing in what I do, and I am such a huge advocate for other artists to be able to do the same.

In 2021, I made the decision to leave GSU and move from Atlanta to Roswell to pursue full time independent creating. I was offered an apprenticeship position at the Roswell Clay Collective to further my knowledge of ceramics and have been working there since 2022. I am now based in Marietta and live with my partner of 8 years, Shane, and our sweet rescue dog Sandy.
Since I began my art career during the pandemic, I originally shared and sold my work entirely online. I have since been able to start getting involved in live art events and am looking forward to more in person opportunities to share my work!
My original work is all available here on my website and ships worldwide. All social media platforms where I share my work, primarily Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest are under the name @The.Arcane.Moth or @TheArcaneMoth
Thank you so much for joining me on my creative journey! Please feel free to reach out to me via Contact@TheArcaneMoth.com if you have any questions at all.
